Power of Work Awards

Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes recognizes and rewards the outstanding achievements of our team members at our annual Power of Work Awards.  

If you’re a team member at Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes, and you wish to recognize someone, nominations will open on May 1, 2024.

Goodwill Spirit Award [$20 cash prize and a Certificate of Recognition]

• One Goodwill employee from each department/location who demonstrates Goodwill spirit of ICARE values in their role at Goodwill
• Respectful of others, team player and works hard  in helping to create an inclusive workplace for all (team members, customers and donors, etc.)
  

Achiever of the Year Award [$200 CASH PRIZE]

• Is a Goodwill team member
• Acknowledges and sets an example for ongoing personal and professional growth
• Is a positive influence to and encouraging of others, committed to growth, change and learning.
• Demonstrates ICARE values in their work.
  

Mission Advancement Award [Plaque and Certificate of Recognition]

• Goodwill staff member or volunteer
• Has created a new or improved program, service, process that further strengthens Goodwill’s Mission
• Their contribution has made a lasting impact on Goodwill’s ability to fulfill its Mission of Work
• Demonstrates ICARE values in their work.

Goodwill Sustainability Award [$200 CASH PRIZE]

• Goodwill team who introduced a Green Policy, program or activity
• Enhances or protects the environment, while continuing to meet organizational business/service demands
• Their contribution caused the public and/or Goodwill team members to learn or act on behalf of the environment
• Actively implements environmental practices with knowledge and care
• Demonstrates ICARE values in their work
  

Graduate of the Year Award [$200 CASH PRIZE]

• Graduated or moved on from Goodwill services or employment at Goodwill and is now employed outside of Goodwill or has advanced to other parts of the organization
• Demonstrates the use of Goodwill tools and resources and skills-building programs for personal and professional development.
• Exhibits a passion for learning and personal and professional development, openness to feedback.
• Demonstrates ICARE values in their work.

Visionary Leader Award [Plaque and Certificate of Recognition]

• Goodwill staff member 
• Demonstrates ethical leadership abilities, visionary thinking, innovation, positive impact on colleagues, community involvement.  
• Committed to personal and professional development, accountable and reliable, team player as well as someone colleagues trust to follow and collaborate with. 
• Exemplifies ICARE values in their work. 
  

 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Impact Award  [Plaque and Certificate of Recognition]

• Goodwill staff member or team
• Demonstrated leadership in creating and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusivity, fostering a culture of respect for all Goodwill employees, customers, clients and community members
• Demonstrates workplace and community allyship by interrupting harm to historically marginalized people
• Committed to personal and professional development as it relates to anti-oppression
• Demonstrates bold allyship through support and advocacy
• Exhibits ICARE values in their work
