Goodwill Amity and Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes to Unite

The Boards of Directors of Goodwill Amity and Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes (OGL) announced they have unanimously voted to come together as one Goodwill, effective June 1, 2025.
“This unification reflects a bold, strategic step forward,” said Glen Norton, Chair of Goodwill Amity Board of Directors. “We are driven by common growth goals and a shared mission of strengthening communities through the power of work.”
The unified Goodwill will operate as Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes , and will continue to serve all currently supported communities and will work to expand its reach and deepen impact across the region.
“With our combined expertise, we’re confident this unification will create even greater value for our communities, team members, and partners,” said Michelle Micuda, Chair of Goodwill OGL Board of Directors. “We have an opportunity to strengthen our Goodwill brand, optimizing our resources and building capacity to support people and families through access to affordable goods.”
Across North America, Goodwill Industries has played an essential role in changing lives through the power of work. This unification will strengthen training and work opportunities for people in our communities. “Together we will build a stronger Goodwill across our collective region, expanding opportunity and helping more people enter or re-enter the workforce,” said Tracy Cunning, Interim CEO of Goodwill Amity.
This decision marks a pivotal moment. “The door is open to new possibilities for continued growth and innovation – not only advancing our work in the circular economy, but growth in development and career opportunities for our workforce,” said Bev Kobe, President & CEO of Goodwill OGL. “All team members will continue to play a vital role in our unified Goodwill.”
In 2025, Goodwill Amity celebrates its 90th anniversary, marking nearly a century dedicated to helping job seekers find meaningful work and build brighter futures, while creating lasting change through community thrift retail stores and community partnerships. The unified Goodwill is committed to continuing and building on the impactful Amity legacy in the Hamilton and Halton region.
