What You Will Do:
Talent Acquisition Strategy & Execution
- Leads the development and implementation of a best-in-class talent acquisition strategy, supported by an effective tactical plan.
- Stays current with various recruitment technology and methodologies, making recommendations and implementations appropriate in accordance with Goodwill’s talent acquisition objectives.
- Works closely with all stakeholders to ensure all current and future recruitment needs are planned for with supporting resources and tactical plan.
- Participates in the design and implementation of recruitment and hiring efforts aligned with Goodwill’s EDIB program objectives.
- Conducts research and acts upon various government funding and supports, liaising externally with professional, community organizations, and agencies.
- Explores opportunities to hire through community partners, and research hiring/training incentives with the goal of offsetting wages were possible and appropriate.
- Works closely with the marketing, HR, and operational teams to develop and execute a positive employer brand.
- Ensures a positive candidate experience by ensuring all hiring managers and/or hiring teams are brand ambassadors, well trained in the recruitment strategy as well as all aspects of the talent acquisition process.
Recruitment Activity
- Participates with and supports the recruiting team as required in conducting sourcing, interviewing and follow-ups for all location or department management vacancies.
- Partners with the new-store project team but takes the lead in planning and deploying the recruitment team to support new location recruitment needs.
- Develops, evaluates, and continually measures the effectiveness of the recruitment brand vehicles (postings, advertisements, promotional materials, website etc.).
- Develops and maintains metrics that measure successful placements of candidates, retention, time-to-fill rates, and other trends.
- Leads the senior leadership recruitment process by guiding and advising senior level management, in alignment with Goodwill’s talent strategy.
- Collaborates with senior level management to identify potential candidates utilizing internal and external networks and interacting with professionals on niche platforms.
Talent Acquisition Team (TAT) Development and Performance
- Deploys and manages the TAT to ensure timely and efficient delivery of recruitment services to the organization’s hiring managers.
- Leading-by-example, acts as a coach and mentor to all direct reports, providing guidance, training, and timely performance management as required including annual and other periodic appraisals, corrective actions, performance plans, and positive recognition.
- Exercises positive employee relations in the communication of performance objectives, work plans and in the on-going follow-up and performance management of the TAT.
- Ensures the TAT works in an effective, efficient, and collaborative manner with all client groups, contributing to the achievement of recruitment and hiring objectives.
- Ensures all members of the TAT work with due regard for Goodwill’s various human resource, health and safety policies and procedures.
What We Are Looking For:
- Expert level knowledge of leading-edge recruitment techniques and tools.
- Strong interviewing skills both virtual and in-person.
- Strong computer skills with superior knowledge of various recruitment and applicant tracking software.
- Extremely well organized in multi-tasking with superior attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
- Positive approach to team building and performance management.
- Strong networking abilities.
- Completed post-secondary education in administration, business, human resources, or a related discipline.
- 5 – 10 years of progressive experience in full-cycle recruitment.
- 3+ years of prior experience in recruitment of retail or general management roles.
- Experience developing and executing sourcing strategies and talent pipelining.
- Experience using sourcing tools (i.e. Indeed Smart Sourcing, LinkedIn Recruiter, etc.)
- Previous experience with direct sourcing and recruitment networking.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable insured vehicle.
