The Social Media Graphic Designer will help support Goodwill’s marketing strategy through a variety of channels and mediums. This role will support the creative and digital marketing efforts of the Marketing Team, and assist with developing, implementing and maintaining various components of Goodwill’s brand and communications strategy.

 What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm and conceptualize creative ideas for social media content that align with brand guidelines and objectives.       
  • Provide general support to the marketing team as needed, including assisting with photography, video editing, and other multimedia tasks.
  • Create visually appealing multimedia content for various social media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.     
  • Attend meetings and check-ins to discuss Goodwill’s social media presence, how well the business is performing, and ideas on how to make digital marketing initiatives more successful.
  • Maintain a consistent brand identity across all social media channels by adhering to established design standards, templates and content styles.
  • Manage time effectively to meet all team and organizational deadlines.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in social media to ensure content remains fresh, engaging, and relevant. 
  • Follow all safety standards set out in legislation and/or Goodwill policies.
  • Be actively involved in the health, well-being and safety of themselves and their team.

 What We Are Looking For:

  • Effective leadership characteristics – humility, empathy, courage – to inspire and enact change.
  • Exceptional listening skills and high emotional intelligence, respecting differences between various ethnic groups and gender in the workplace.
  • Fields of study include Graphic Design, Marketing, Media, Photography, Graphic Design, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Film or other related field.
  • Hands-on experience (personal and/or professional) in creative production including photography and videography for social media is an asset.
  • Experience using social media content planning apps including Agorapulse and Met Suite is an asset.
  • Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and insurance or have reliable transportation for any on-site activities.
  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment. Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • Between 15-30 years of age at the start of employment.
  • A portfolio will be required if selected for an interview.
  • Enthusiasm: excited to work with other people and teams.
  • Flexibility: able to work at various times, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Communication: effectively speaking with and listening to team members and customers to create a positive workplace.
  • Problem-solving: finding solutions to problems, being accurate.
