Marketing Assistant
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Assistant will assist Goodwill’s Marketing Team and its efforts to support mission and business across the Organization, helping develop, implement and maintain various components of Goodwill’s brand and communications strategy.
This junior marketing role will appeal to a candidate who is passionate about marketing and design, has strong written communication skills, and is excited to work for a non-profit that supports people, planet and community.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Be part of the creative process to elevate Goodwill’s brand, integrate mission into marketing materials and collateral, and help the department meet and exceed goals set by the organization.
  • Support the team’s social media activity by providing engaging content (posts, stories, etc.), and responding to comments/questions.
  • Help maintain Goodwill’s websites and provide support with updating content to help inform visitors of essential information as well as integrating mission along the way.
  • Support the Marketing Department by providing graphic design, communications, and/or administrative support for Facebook Workplace, Work Works e-newsletters, Intranet, and other internal and external communication channels and/or events.
  • Be a brand ambassador, assist the Marketing Department to ensure that all store branding is up-to-date, mission integrated, and in good repair across the entire region
  • Help prioritize support requests that come into the department from various locations and platforms
  • Provide administrative support to Goodwill’s Marketing team; including, helping with mail, deliveries, data entry, and customer service
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or Graphic Design (or relevant job experience)
  • 1 to 3 years’ marketing, communications or graphic design experience
  • 1 to 3 years’ social media experience (social media account management is considered an asset)
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is an asset
  • Experience with WordPress or a CMS is an asset
  • Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and insurance
