The Empowerment Hub – Program Coach is responsible for implementing and delivering the effective individual planning services for people accessing vocational assessment, evaluation and employment planning services for people accessing Developmental Services programs or vocational services. Oversees and supervises the day-to-day programming for the London Passport program, as well as assisting in promoting Goodwill’s workforce development programs in the community.

What You Will Do:

  • Deliver direct client services of the Goodwill London Passport Program/Empowerment Hub.
  • Provides Case Management and all communication to participants and families.
  • Complete program planning for clients as well as directly supervise, coach, and counsel participants.
  • Liaises, as required, with other professionals in the community who are directly involved with clients’ programs.
  • Submits a monthly written summary of unit activities to the Workforce Development Project Manager.
  • Provide monthly billing information to the Workforce Development Project Manager.
  • Counsel clients in assessment and work adjustment training programs.
  • Maintains complete and accurate client records.
  • Create monthly calendars for clients and community
  • Works closely with the Health and Safety Committee on issues relating to the security of persons and property.
  • Keeps up to date on trends in the workforce development field through reading current materials, attending approved seminars and maintaining contact with other practitioners engaged in similar work.
  • Represents Goodwill Industries at community committees and special presentations.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required

 

 What We Are Looking For:

  • Develops mutually beneficial working relationships with professionals in other human services agencies and with peers in other Goodwill’s.
  • Scheduling new and repeat clients into a pre-approved schedule
  • Prioritization of work assignments to meet pre-defined deadlines
  • Knowledge of community service delivery network, funding sources and client needs.

  • Developmental Service Worker Diploma preferred.

  • Diploma or degree in related field Developmental Service Worker, Counselling, Social Services, Psychology) or demonstrated success in previous work history.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in human services and practical knowledge of employment assessment tools.

  • Professional development in social services, life skills, coaching or employment.

  • Acceptable criminal reference check.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to effectively attend to client needs in a group setting.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.

  • Requires flexibility to work on site with blended on site and virtual supervision.

  • Requires contact with the public both in person and virtually.

  • Standing, sitting and walking to be adjusted to individual needs.

  • Managing stressful and emotional situations that may arise, resolving conflicts and disagreements.

  • Ergonomic demands of working at a computer (flexing and rotation of the wrists, frequent sitting, standing and walking).

  • Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying.
