Prime Management Group Inc. is pleased to be partnering with Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes (Goodwill), in the search for a highly qualified and experienced Director of Sustainability and Circularity. Reporting to the VP, Operations, this highly skilled, innovative and trusted Director will be crucial in developing and implementing strategies, policies, and programs that promote sustainability and address the environmental impact of operations. Embracing the vision for continued, exponential, and sustainable growth, this innovative director will implement a comprehensive Sustainability and Circularity strategy that aligns with Goodwill’s strategy, seeking to identify any opportunities that could support the organization’s goals.

As the progressive Director of Sustainability and Circularity, you will lead Goodwill’s circular economy initiatives by staying informed about emerging trends and relevant regulations. In addition, you will be developing comprehensive strategies, and fostering strong relationships with industry experts and stakeholders. As such, you will seek to optimize the supply chain to minimize waste, enhance resource efficiency, and oversee waste management across all locations, striving for zero-waste goals. Collaborating closely with the VP, Operations, you will identify and implement innovative circular economy opportunities and technologies. Additionally, as the Director of Sustainability and Circularity, you will establish a Sustainability Committee, training programs, and workshops to promote a culture of environmental stewardship throughout the entire organization. Likewise, you will ensure compliance with relevant regulations and will report circular economy performance to senior management and stakeholders.

To excel in this role, the Director of Sustainability and Circularity should possess the following:

  • Post-secondary education in the field(s) of Finance/Business, Sustainability, and Environmental Sciences or related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in leading circularity and sustainability efforts in a corporate/organizational environment.
  • Effective leadership characteristics – humility, empathy, courage – to inspire and enact change.
  • Exceptional listening skills and high emotional intelligence, respecting differences between various ethnic groups and gender in the workplace.
  • Excellent strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive innovative and eco-friendly solutions.
  • Proficient in data-driven decision-making, able to create and present business plans, and skilled at knowledge dissemination throughout the organization.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills with a strong commitment to Goodwill’s mission, values, and customer service.
