The Digital Governance and Security Analyst is an IT analyst role responsible for assessing, implementing, monitoring, and improving digital governance, data protection, and cybersecurity practices across the organization. The role blends developing and maintaining security policies, standards, and documentation with hands‑on administration of security controls within Microsoft environments. This strategic role enables responsible AI adoption and sustainable digital growth by ensuring governance, security, and infrastructure are aligned with regulatory and compliance requirements, keeping digital platforms secure, well‑governed, and future‑ready.

What You Will Do:
Hands‑On Microsoft Security, Data Governance and Administration:
- Support and administer security and governance controls across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure, and other enterprise platforms.
- Assist with data governance and data classification practices, including retention expectations, access controls, and protection of sensitive information.
- Support identity, access, and role‑based security processes across digital systems.
- Assist in configuring, maintaining, and monitoring security settings and controls, and contribute to continuous improvement and remediation activities.
- Support the administration, monitoring, and reporting of Microsoft security and compliance tools, platforms, and dashboards used to protect data and manage risk.
- Support the development and enforcement of security standards and controls for endpoint devices (laptops, mobile phones, shared computers) and network access, including role‑based access, monitoring, and compliance requirements.
Governance, Risk, Compliance, Awareness and Responsible AI:
- Support IT governance activities, including policy development, documentation, and alignment with organizational standards, processes, and procedures.
- Maintain security‑related documentation to ensure consistency, accountability, and audit readiness.
- Assist with risk assessments, audits, compliance activities, and third‑party cybersecurity audits, including penetration testing coordination and remediation follow‑
- Contribute to security incident tracking, documentation, investigations, and post‑incident reviews, including lessons learned.
- Assist with the review and investigation of AI tools and AI‑enabled technologies as they relate to security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the development and delivery of cybersecurity awareness and training initiatives, internal communications, and efforts to build a security‑aware culture.
- Collaborate with other IT roles, including Digital Solutions Analyst and Technical Project Manager, to support shared IT activities, operational tasks, issue resolution, and project initiatives, recognizing that responsibilities may overlap based on priorities, capacity, and business needs to ensure continuity of service and effective delivery.
What We Are Looking For:
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and apply practical security and governance controls.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation quality.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document policies, standards, processes, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an IT team and with internal stakeholders.
- Customer‑focused mindset with a strong sense of accountability and service orientation.
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT, information security, data governance, compliance, or a related technical role.
- Hands‑on experience working with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft SharePoint in an enterprise environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, particularly identity, access, or security‑related features.
- Experience supporting security settings, monitoring, access controls, or data protection within Microsoft platforms.
- Hands‑on experience administering Microsoft Power Platform security and governance, including environments and security roles.
- Understanding of AI‑enabled technologies and their associated security, governance, and compliance risks, with the ability to support responsible AI adoption.
