The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization, focusing on project management, Lean/Kaizen methodologies, process flow, and the identification of efficiency and safe work practice improvements in processes. The Continuous Improvement Specialist plays a critical part in enhancing operational efficiency through the development and implementation of strategies to reduce waste and optimizing workflows to support our mission of Changing Lives Through the Power of Work.

This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver’s license and a reliable insured vehicle. The successful candidate would have to provide proof that they have a valid driver’s license and proof of car insurance upon being hired.

 What You Will Do:

  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, reducing waste, and improving quality.
  • Utilize lean and Kaizen methodologies to identify process bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate technology and equipment to improve efficiencies and justify the implementation of technology and equipment solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Conduct process analysis and mapping to identify areas for optimization and standardization.
  • Conduct organization readiness assessments, value realization, opportunity prioritization, resource evaluation and execute continuous improvement strategies that meet business requirements.
  • Utilize data analysis techniques to measure and track process performance, identify trends, and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop, implement and maintain company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and training programs to educate employees on continuous improvement principles and methodologies.
  • Act as a change agent, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across the organization.
  • Provide coaching and support to team members involved in continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring effective execution and sustainability.
  • Stay current on industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies related to continuous improvement and process optimization.
  • Prepare and present updates through reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior management to communicate progress, achievements, and opportunities for improvement.

 What We Are Looking For:

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in continuous improvement, process engineering, or related roles.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt) is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in the non-profit sector or social services field is a plus.
  • Enthusiasm: excited to work with other people and teams.
  • Flexibility: able to work at various times, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Communication: effectively speaking with and listening to team members and customers to create a positive workplace.
  • Problem-solving: finding solutions to problems, being accurate.
