Pay: $60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per annum

The Communications Supervisor will work closely with the Vice President of Strategic Communications & Marketing and a direct report to develop and implement internal and external communications strategies, provide leadership for media and public engagement, and oversee storytelling initiatives to increase awareness of programs and impact across Goodwill. This individual will play an important role in enhancing the organization’s brand.

What You Will Do
- Prepare and ensure the timely distribution of organizational communications (press releases, newsletters, bulletin boards, website and social media announcements, etc.).
- Develop media strategies and relationships to increase earned media and broad public awareness.
- Enhance Goodwill’s workplace culture with communications, championing internal communication and collaboration tools.
- Provide communications leadership and support for special events and projects (Power of Work Awards, press events, etc.).
- Collaborate with teams to assist in the development of mission stories.
- Support leadership, projects, and teams with internal and external communications strategies, materials, and presentations to share Goodwill’s mission and impact in our communities.
- Develop a cohesive communications strategy with an objective to enhance brand awareness.
- Assign tasks to a direct report, ensuring timely completion of communication projects.
- Maintain and update website content when it relates to organizational storytelling, news, information, and strategic messaging.
- Engage in tactics to share key messaging, stories, and impact reporting internally, on the website, and on social media.
- Work collaboratively with the Marketing team and Senior Leadership to ensure consistency and brand alignment in all communications.
- Lead communications strategy meetings – assess current tactics and their impact and explore new ways to communicate more effectively.
- Support omni-channel storytelling internally and externally.
- Track and measure KPIs for communications.
- Support impact reporting to donors and funders.
- Other duties as required.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong writing, editing skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced writing skills.
- Teamwork and cooperation.
- Knowledge of best practices for internal and external communications.
- Creativity and demonstrated flexible thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with software programs including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and website management platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing social media and digital communication platforms.
- Knowledge of branding, graphic design, and visual communications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate good understanding of Goodwill’s mission, values, and programs.
