The Community Inclusion Facilitator is responsible for supervising all clients, co-op students and summer students regarding their Individual Program Plan or educational plan and goals.

What You Will Do  

  • Develop and arrange activities for clients in accordance with their personal programs.
  • Schedule the hours, activities and vacation periods of clients in cooperation with the Sr. Employment Specialist. Monitors attendance and punctuality. Enforces all policies that relate to department activities and personnel.
  • Handle initial concerns with clients as they arise. Problem solving skills required. If problem is serious the Senior Employment Specialist should be contacted. Must be able to use appropriate agency resources to best deal with client needs.
  • Coordinate the daily janitorial and cleaning function for the Career Centre, lunchroom, washrooms, and program areas by the Client.
  • A key function of the job is Skills training, creating and training of life skills, and building community connections. Finding opportunities for clients in the community.
  • Identify and correct fire and safety hazards. Reports findings and actions to Health and Safety Representative.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and maintenance of confidentiality is required at all times.
  • Work closely with the clients to ensure that they conduct themselves in a safe and productive manner.
  • Assist with the promotion of safety in the workplace.
  • Responsible for promotion of a safe workplace and understanding of the obligations set forth in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.

What We Are Looking For

  • Basic math skills, attention to detail, accuracy.
  • Cooperation/Teamwork.
  • Ability to work in a Team environment.
  • DSW/CYW diploma an asset.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities and barriers to employment or candidates with a social service background.
  • Customer Service experience.
  • Acceptable criminal reference check.
  • Enthusiasm: excited to work with other people and teams.
  • Flexibility: able to work at various times, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Communication: effectively speaking with and listening to team members and customers to create a positive workplace.
  • Problem-solving: finding solutions to problems, being accurate.
