Power of Learning Scholarships

Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes provides scholarship opportunities to support the growth and development of all team members. In 2024, Goodwill provided 118 scholarships to employees in fields such as business administration, border services, computer and health sciences.

2025 Scholarship Details

Applications will be assessed based on:

  • Whether the applicant faces a barrier to education or employment
  • How achieving the education will improve the applicant’s career path and/or life
  • The strength of the applicant’s Life/Career Plan

Scholarship Recipients can receive up to $1000 / year for up to five years

If eligible, Education Supports will be provided, out of the $1000/year maximum for each recipient

Are you eligible?

  • re you a current (full or part-time) core or transitional employee at Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes?
  • Have you worked at Goodwill for three months or longer?
  • Are you growth-focused? Do you want to move forward in your life or career?
  • Do you want to take courses or training between May 2025 and August 2026, that will help you to move forward in your life or career?
  • Is the education you have in mind, not provided by Goodwill Professional Development programs?
  • Is the education you have in mind offered by an accredited educational institute or Goodwill? (ex. Hands on Hospitality, Excellent Customer Service Training)

Contacting Your Employee Coach

  • Goodwill staff member or volunteer
  • Has created a new or improved program, service, process
  • Their contribution has made a lasting impact on Goodwill’s ability to fulfill its Mission of Work

We encourage you to contact your coach in order to help you map out a strong Career/Life plan for your scholarship application. Having a strong plan will increase your chances of reaching your goals and receiving a scholarship. Your Coach can also assist with answering any questions you have about the application or difficulties you are having filling out the form.
