Salary Range: $50,778.00-$54,405.00/year
Position Type: Full-Time, 37.5-40 hours per week

Career Development Specialist works closely with our job seekers, and will determine job seeker suitability and eligibility for the applicable employment program. The Career Development Specialist will work directly with job seekers to develop individual employment action plans and facilitate individual and group employment training sessions.

What You Will Do
- Accurately assessing job seeker suitability and eligibility for program service, including case conferencing with team members, internal and community partners to discuss job seeker needs.
- Providing job seeker supports, coaching, and counselling.
- Facilitating group-based training sessions focused on employability skills and job placements.
- Reaching out and building relationships with local community groups to market our services.
- Ensuring accurate, timely, and effective case notes are kept for each job seeker enabling proactive decisions and course corrections for the individual employment action plan.
- Ensure timely and accurate data collection and entry.
What We Are Looking For
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience in employment or social services.
- Experience handling a large case load.
- Experience working with Employment Ontario or MCCSS programming is an asset.
- Knowledge and/or experience serving job seekers with employment barriers, including disability.
- Sound knowledge of employment counselling and job coaching techniques.
- Strong facilitation skills, both in group setting and one-on-one.
- Solid case noting and record keeping skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Sound working knowledge of various software including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Able to converse in Arabic would be an asset
- A valid driver’s license and full-time access to a vehicle is an asset.
- The successful candidate will be required to have a Criminal Records Check completed
