What to Donate

Donating to Goodwill is an easy and convenient way to rid your house of that extra clutter while at the same time providing someone in the community with something they need at a great price and helping someone else find meaningful employment.

While we appreciate all donations we do ask that you take the time to sort your donations before bringing them to one of our Donation Centre locations, to remove any items that we cannot re-sell. Sorting out and disposing of items we cannot sell takes time and resources away from fulfilling our mission.

Please refer to the list below featuring items you can donate to help us fulfill our mission:

Clothing - Outerwear - Footwear
In-season, gently used for men, women & children

Accessories
Belts, purses, jewellery, scarves, gloves, hats

Fabrics
Linen, towels, curtains, blankets, area rugs

Computer Equipment

Computer towers, keyboards, mouses, monitors, fax machines, printers, scanners, laptops

Recreational
Toys, games, sports equipment, books, audio, video, musical instruments, children's wagons, bicycles, CDs, videos (with manufacturer's label intact), DVDs

Household
Kitchen items (dishes, pots & pans, utensils), home decor, tools, small appliances and vacuum cleaners in good working order, textiles, furniture, glassware, lamps, framed mirrors, microwaves

Electronics
Electrical or battery operated in working order: digital equipment, MP3s, TVs, stereos, radios, VCRs, DVD players, cameras, motorized and regular wheelchairs.

Large furniture may be donated at the following locations:

255 Horton St and 1225 Wonderland Rd (Sherwood Forest Mall) in London

Goodwill no longer offers donation truck pick-ups due to the increasing costs of running such a program.

Unacceptable Items

We are unable to accept items that are too large, heavy or awkward to handle and/or move safely such as some larger furniture items, sofa beds, organs, pianos or console stereos and TVs.

Items that are not recyclable or contain hazardous materials

Items that are too old and do not comply with current safety standards.

Items that are in disrepair, broken and/or have parts, labels or instructions missing.

We do not have the resources to clean or repair items that are soiled or in disrepair, we can only accept gently used items that are in sales floor ready condition.

 

Any products that do not meet current safety standards including recalled items

Baby items – car seats, walkers, baby gates and other infant items that may not meet current safety standards, we are obligated to destroy and dispose of these items.
